William "Bill" Henry
HENRY, WILLIAM (BILL) - William Joseph Henry (Bill) passed away unexpectedly January 15, 2013 at the age of 82. Bill was born in 1930 in Welland, Ontario. While growing up in St. John, NB., Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horses. He worked as a stevedore on the docks and later as a diver. He apprenticed as an electrician at the Dry Dock in Saint John. Bill moved to Toronto in 1953 and continued working as an electrician there as a member of the IBEW, Local 353. He travelled to the arctic to work on the Defence Early Warning Line, or DEW Line. When he returned to Toronto, he worked as an electrician and an electrical superintendent on many well-known projects, such as the Toronto-Dominion Bank Tower, the Eaton Centre, Toronto City Hall, North York General Hospital, the U of T Medical Science Building, the Water Treatment Plant and the Sudbury Nickel Mine, to name a few. Bill will be dearly missed by his wife, Ann, his children, Laura (Rolando), Mary Jane (Kirk) and Michael, and his grandchildren Annie, Jennifer and Justin. He was the brother of Marjorie Short and the late Marion Debly, and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
