The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, of Mrs. Eleanor Ida Dougan (nee FitzPatrick) of Tracadie Cross, in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Dougan and dear mother of Mary (Derrill) Doyle, Frances, Pat, Gerard (Dianne), Helen (Gerard) O’Connell, Linda (Herb) Watts, Joanne (Dean) Jay and Mike (Lorraine). She is also lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her brothers and sisters, Kathleen White, Milton (Myrtle) FitzPatrick, Laura (Reg) Power, Josephine FitzPatrick, Bernie (Bill) Koughan, Thelma MacDonald and Lennie (Anne) FitzPatrick. She was predeceased by her daughter, Theresa; her sisters, Erna and Frances; and her brothers, Eddie, Vernon and Leo. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 4:20 on Saturday afternoon, then transferred to St. Bonaventure’s Church, Tracadie Cross, for funeral mass at 5 p.m. Interment to follow in the family plot in St. Bonaventure’s Parish Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. If so desired, memorial contributions in Eleanor’s memory may be made to St. Bonaventure’s Parish Cemetery Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
