McLAUGHLIN, MARY ELIZABETH - Surrounded by her three loving daughters, Mary Elizabeth McLaughlin passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Passamaquoddy Lodge in St. Andrews. Mary was born September of 1922, she was the daughter to the late Margaret (McIntyre) and Robert Hachey. She worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Provincial Hospital as a Nurse’s Assistant. Mary later worked for the United Store as a Cashier. She volunteered for the Red Cross; enjoyed bowling and had a passion for gardening. In recent years she enjoyed painting, arts and crafts and bingo at the Passamaquoddy Lodge. Mary is survived by her daughters Hilda Noel (William), Beverly Vautour (Paul) both of Saint John and Carol Carlson (Roderick MacPherson) of Musquodoboit Harbour, NS; precious grandchildren Vicki, Holly, Christopher, Scott, Patrick, Katie and Justin; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents Mary was predeceased by her husband Frederick James McLaughlin, sister Grace Johnson and grandson Terry Noel.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Wednesday, January 23rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 24th at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
