
Stephen MacNeil
NEW GLASGOW – Stephen Ronald MacNeil, 77, of East River Road, New Glasgow, passed away under the compassionate care of the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, with family members by his side.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Duncan and Elizabeth (Ryan) MacNeil.
Stephen lived most of his life in New Glasgow. In his early years Stephen worked as a Bellhop at the former Norfolk Hotel in New Glasgow later going on to work at Trenton Works. He later moved to PEI where he worked Construction. He enjoyed hunting as a past time.
He is survived by his children: Lisa Dawn, Natasha Star, Tawna Noreen, Stephen Jason, Rose Baker and Darren Baker, his companion Cynthia Andrews; sisters Ann (Gar) Darroch, Helen Geddes; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Velma (Burt), several brothers and sisters.
His remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday from where funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday with Father Peter MacDonald presiding. Cremation to follow with burial of ashes to take place in Christ The King Parish Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Stephen may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital or to the Lodge That Gives, Halifax.
