Therese Gagnon
GAGNON, THÉRÈSE LINA – 1922-2013 from Moncton passed away on January 24, 2013 at the Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre surrounded by her loving family. Born in Rogersville, she was the daughter of the late Fabien and Anne (Arseneau) Richard. Orphaned at the age of four she was raised in Rogersville by the family of the late Antoine and Yvonne Arsenault. After serving in the army for two years during World War II, she worked in various positions in schools and hospitals. Her favorite hobbies over the years included bowling, painting, knitting, quilting and reading. She will be sadly missed by her husband of nearly 67 years, Ernest Gagnon; four children: Ernest (Alison Hamlyn) of Vancouver, BC, Richard (Lucie Desharnais) of Port Alberni, BC, Lucille (Ron) Kearney of Woodstock, NB, and Linda (Charles LeBlanc) of Moncton; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law: Diane Kean of Ontario, Elvina Gagnon of Moncton, Anita Gagnon of Moncton and Doris Miller of Saint John, as well as several foster siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by brothers: Damien and Joseph; sisters: Marie Martin, Sylvie Bernard, Marguerite Babin, Jeanne Seach, Delina Raymond, Alice Endzeleit and Bella Richard.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont palliative care unit for their excellent care, compassion and kindness.
