It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lorraine Edna Mortenson on January 18, 2010. She was born April 7, 1931. Lorraine is predeceased by her parents Carl and Gertrude Baker, her husband Harold in 1994, sister Lillian and brother Sonny; sister-in-law Janet. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Ted & Tracy – United Arab Emirates, and Kelly & Kerry – Moose Jaw; nine grandchildren: Stacey and Lindsay (Christian); Kurt (Tara) and Nolan; Michelle and Simon, Erin (Steve), Lee (Taryn), and Lainie; special grand-puppy “Baileyâ€; eight great-grandchildren: Quinn and Vance; Garrett, Tanner, Alexis and Hayden; Carson and Hunter; brother Ed Baker – Calgary; brother-in-law Byron - Kelowna; many nieces and nephews; and special friends with the Magpies, Birthday Buddies, and the Coffee Club. A Celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 1:30 pm. Reverends Fred and Bev Longmire will officiate. Cremation will take place, with memorialization at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials to Providence Place Foundation, 100 2nd Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw S6H 1B8 or the Salvation Army, 175 1st Ave. N.E., Moose Jaw, S6H 0Y9, would be appreciated. We wish to express our gratitude to those who cared for Mom at Providence Place and Extendicare, and to Dr. A. Luhning for his care and assistance.
