MacKENZIE, Anna Elizabeth “Betty” -83, of the Maritime Oddfellows Home, Pictou, and formerly of Waterside, passed away peacefully, January 26, 2013, surrounded by her family. Born in Waterside, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Florence (Shea) Davidson. Betty lived most of her life in Waterside, where she was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was an avid knitter and wonderful cook. She greatly enjoyed walks to the beach and spending time with the joys of her life, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty regularly attended St. David’s Presbyterian Church in Toney River for years. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; brothers, Gerald, Richard, and baby brother, Percy; sisters, Chedell Sutherland and Dorothy Murray. She is survived by her daughters, Rilda (Norman) Saulnier, Waterside; Sheila (Gary) Moses, Three Brooks; Vanda (Finley) MacDonald, Waterside; son, Gordon, Jr. (Jane), Maple Ridge, B.C.; her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sister, Minnie Barkhouse, Pictou; sister-in-law, Marjorie (Doug) Robertson, Lyons Brook; and many nieces and nephews. A family funeral will be held in McLaren Funeral Home Chapel, Pictou, with Rev. Gregory Dickson officiating. Burial will be in Central Caribou Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
