WARD, DONALD – It is with heartfelt sadness the family announces the passing of Donald Gordon Ward who died peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family at his side. He was born February 7, 1950, the son of the late Arthur and Betty Ward. Don cherished his wife Mary Kay, and enjoyed every day he spent with her. Don is survived by his son Sean (Amanda) Ward and their children Hannah and Connor and his daughter Patricia Ward and her son Joshua. Along with his parents Don was predeceased by his brother Arthur (Betty) Ward, and survived by his brothers Bill (Shelley) Ward, Peter (Valerie) Ward and his sister Elizabeth (Buster) Macumber. Don was a family man who loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren he had a loving smile and a sense of humour like no other. Despite losing the battle with Myotonic Dystrophy Don remained positive to the very end. Don will be remembered for his commitment to his family and friends. “Your battle is over, no more suffering; now you are no longer weak.”
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2pm, reception to follow.
