The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, of John J. Ellsworth of Alberton and formerly of St. Lawrence, in his 74th year. Beloved husband of 53 years to Frances (Callaghan) Ellsworth of Bloomfield. John was born in Miminegash on July 17, 1939, the son of the late LeRoy and Elizabeth (Gallant) Ellsworth. Dear father to Kevin (Kim), Alberton; Audrey (Grant) Buchanan, Bloomfield; Terry (Patti), Alberton and John (Amanda), Warren Grove. Loving grandfather to Jackie, Megan, Emma, Lisa, Christopher, Corey, Kelsey, Cody, Jake, Shania and Truman. He is also survived by brothers and sisters Myrtle, Raymond, Mary, Frances, Joey, Roy, Melvin, Linda, Eleanor and Melvin Gallant. He was predeceased by his parents LeRoy and Elizabeth, brothers Vinnie in 1995 and Willard in 1994. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Western Hospital, the oncology department at Prince County Hospital, paramedics, staff at Mill River Golf Course, long-time doctor and friend Dr. Charles Dewar and Gayle Adams and anyone who helped during his illness, which he endured with patience, courage and faith. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, with visiting hours Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral will be held Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Interment to take place at a later date in the church cemetery.
