MALASKY: Margaret Jean Malasky, age 86, of Ponteix, SK passed away January 6, 2013. At her request there was no formal service. Margaret is survived by her daughters Glenda Mantik of Edmonton, AB and Patsy Malasky of Ponteix, SK; son-in-law Rod Graham (Pat Williamson) of Kincaid, SK; six grand daughters; Susan Millership of Quesnel, Barbara (Darrell) Tennant of Kamloops, BC, Audrey (Ken) Van Aalst of Prince George, BC, Jennifer (Troy) Achter of Ponteix, SK, Tobi Graham (Andrew Kwok) of Saskatoon, SK, Dianna Graham (Cameron Juhnke) of Brooks, AB; ten great grandchildren; two brothers Bill (Shirley) McKenzie of Medicine Hat, AB, Norman (Angela) McKenzie of Kenosee and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Malasky, father and mother Jack and Maggie McKenzie, step mother Annie McKenzie; brothers and sisters Jessie Sharp, Jim McKenzie, Mary Dodds, Ron McKenzie and Rod McKenzie; daughter Margaret Ellen Graham; sons-in-law Michael Lacelle and Ted Mantik. Margaret was born on November 25, 1926 south of Aneroid. She lived with her grandparents and attended the Quimper School until 1944. She was married to Robert Malasky in 1946 in Kelowna, BC. Margaret had various jobs in B.C. and Saskatchewan and she retired in 1991 from the Ponteix Hospital where she was a cook for many years. She held many positions with the Aneroid Royal Purple and was the statistician for the Ponteix Bowling Club for many years. Margaret was also a director for the Ponteix Donor's Choice. Margaret relished bowling and enjoyed many other hobbies like knitting, crocheting and making puzzles. She enjoyed card games of all kind, especially cribbage and gin rummy. She loved to travel and never missed a family event. Gardening and watching birds were favorite pass times and she was active all her life at home and in the community. In Margaret's memory, memorial donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
