CHAPPELL, LORRAINE - 1922 - 2013 - Lorraine Chappell, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on January 31st, shortly after her 90th birthday. She was born in Vancouver, BC on December 22, 1922, daughter of William Pendry and Maude (Thomas) Pendry, but she cherished her adopted home at the beach in Shediac, NB. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Patricia DesBrisay and son-in-law, Richard DesBrisay of Moncton, by her son, William Chappell and daughter-in-law, Heidi Juul of North Battleford, SK; by her five grandchildren, Craig, Julie and Laura DesBrisay, Ben and Tegan Chappell and her great-grandson, Bennett DesBrisay. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Chappell and her sister, Audrey Frith of San Diego, CA. She attended Trinity United Church in Shediac, where she was involved in many events and projects over the years. Lorraine loved a game of bridge and she was known for her Welsh cakes and her lovely handiwork. Lorraine lived a full and independent life filled with many dear friends and loving family.
A celebration of Lorraine's life will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 5th, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church, 379 Main Street, Shediac, NB E4P 2B4 or Hospice Greater Moncton building project, 55 Camden Crescent, Moncton, NB, E1E 4S9.
