Passed away peacefully at age 66 on Wednesday, January 20th, 2010 at the Health Sciences Centre, Albert (Al) Holland, born in St. John’s, and returned after a long term residence in Gander. Predeceased by his mother Teresa and father Frederick. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Marie (Healey), son Bryan, daughter-in-law Kimberly, sisters Alma Major (John), Carol Holland, Janet Munch (Mike), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Al worked in radio and television (CJON), followed by a long career with the Federal Government including Immigration Officer at Gander Airport, and HRDC in St. John’s. Al was known for his sense of humor and gentle nature, and volunteer work including, VOWR, Cable 9, Air Cadet Program, and the K of C. He was very excited knowing that his first granddaughter is expected in March. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 p.m. - 4 pm. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in his memory to VOWR or to a charity of one’s choice.
