CONNELL, JAMES ERNEST “JIM” - Jim Connell, loving husband of Monica Jean (Hamilton) Connell, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 3, 2013. Born on January 11, 1934 in Montreal to the late James Ernest Connell and Edith Lissimore. Jim was a cook in the RCAF and for Kent Lines and then retired from the D.O.T. in 1999. He was also a former director of Simonds Co-Op and a member of the Lancaster West Liberal Party. Jim is survived by children James E. Hamilton Connell (Janice) of Saint John, Roberta Jean Finnamore (Paul) of Saint John, NB; brother Carl Connell; sister in law Anita Hamilton (Wayne Barchard) of Halifax; brother-in-law Bob Hamilton of Toronto; grandchildren Darren (Rachel Wheaton) and Leah Finnamore; great-grandchildren Aaron and Shawn; several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Nancy Smith and Venita Brenton.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road, (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday, February 5 from 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 6 at 10:30 A.M. An interment will follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
