BARRON (Zeggelaar), Elisabeth Johanna "Betty" - 51, Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at home, with her family present, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, she was a daughter of the late Jan "John" and Krijna (VanDijk) Zeggelaar. Betty had been employed at Save Easy in Berwick for 21 years and later at Sourdough Bakery in Cambridge. Surviving are her husband, Robert Douglas Barron; sons, Robert Geoffrey (Melissa Jade Moore), Grande Prairie, Alta.; Christopher James (Shilo Pearle) and Tyler John, at home; brothers, Andrew (Eleanore) Zeggelaar, Thorhild, Alta; Matthew (Betty) Zeggelaar, Three Mile Plains; Jacob "Jack" (Patricia) Zeggelaar, Newport Corner; sisters, Jantje (Gary) Beatty, Woodstock, N.B.; Eva (Rev. Brian) Wheaton, Delta, Ont.; Ruby (Doug Graham) Jennings, Red Deer, Alta; Linda Cochrane, Cambridge; several nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Robert A. Barron, Aylesford. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Amina P. Barron. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone of DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (902-538-8317). Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, February 3, in the Aylesford United Church, 2414, Hwy # 1, Aylesford, from where the funeral service took place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 4. Rev. Brian Wheaton officiated, assisted by Rev. Brenda Nesbitt. Burial was in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Margaret Salsman Cancer Care Memorial Fund, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Kings Co.
