It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alfreda Samms announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the age of 79 years. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Russell, 2 sons: Maxwell (Linda) Samms of Stephenville, Brian (Jenny) Samms of Stephenville, 3 daughters: Olivia Ralph of Grand Falls-Windsor, Rochelle Samms Bourgeois (Hughie) of Kippens, Alana (Floyd) Alley of Kippens, 2 brothers: Maxwell (Renée) Dyke of Ontario, Frank (Jane) Dyke of Ontario, 3 sisters: Nellie Hart of Ontario, Margaret Moyles of Stephenville, Sylvia Belliveau of Stephenville, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Maxwell and Louise Dyke and her sister, Josephine Hunt. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, February 7th at 3:00 p.m. at the United Church, St. Clare Avenue, Stephenville with Interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville.
