AL BUCHANAN

Card of Thanks
Al Buchanan
We, the family of the late Al Buchanan, whose funeral was held December 15, 2012, at St. Mary’s Church in East Bay, express our gratitude to everyone who attended the funeral, made donations in memory of Al, cards, enrollments, masses, food to our homes, visited, and called. Thanks to family, friends and co-workers who travelled great distances to be with us at this difficult time. To Father Frank Abbass, thank you for a lovely service. Thank you to the Urn Bearer, Honorary Pallbearers, Readers, Alter Servers, Usher and Organist. Very special thanks to Fred Lavery and Laurel Martell for performing Al’s favourite song and hymn. To all the fire departments in CBRM, especially East Bay for the Honor Guard at the church and the cemetery, what a touching tribute to Al. To Peter Mac Donald for speaking so candidly about Al, thank you. We would like to thank St. Mary’s Parish CWL for the wonderful lunch at the firehall after the service. Also, the fireman and their wives for their work before and after the lunch. To my friends who prepared and served us the delicious meal that evening, it was really appreciated. Special thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the CBDHA who tended to Al’s health care, especially Dr. Robert Cohen. A heartfelt thank you to Palliative Care, the VON, and my family and friends who made it possible for Al to be at home as he wished. Thank you to Bill Curry and Vince Gillis, your assistance was greatly appreciated. I will be forever grateful to family and friends who were there for me in Al’s final days, and are still there for me. You are all truly wonderful people.
