MANN, STELLA JEAN "JEANNIE" - Stella Jean “Jeannie” (nee Gogan) Mann, 75, of Petitcodiac, passed away at the George L. Dumont Hospital on February 5, 2013. Born in Moncton, she was a daughter of the late Gerald A. “Tommy” and Myrtle (nee Steeves) Gogan. Jeannie was of member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church and the ACW. She lived in Labrador City for many years, and worked in retail sales for Hudson’s Bay, several gift shops, and the Grenfell Hotel. Jeannie was very active in community activities there, including the Hospital Auxilliary, Brownies and Guides. On returning home to Petitcodiac, she worked at the high school, Ella’s Flowers, Statscan, and Fair Haven Funeral Home. Her last years were spent at Spencer’s Nursing Home, where she was well cared for by staff and volunteers. Stella is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Patty” Jean Mann of Fredericton; her sons: David Russell Mann of Petitcodiac, Stewart William Mann (Susan) of Edmonton, AB, and Robert Gerald Mann of Petitcodiac; her sister, Nancy Gogan of Fredericton; her brother, Gerald Gogan (Leslie) of Petitcodiac; and by her granddaughters: Samantha and Sydney.
No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Friday February 8, 2013 at 1:00 pm in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church with Rev. Chris Hayes and Rev. John Sharpe presiding. Interment will be held in Maplewood Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Dialysis Unit at the George Dumont Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
