MURDOCH, DAVID JAMES "JIMMY" - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David James “Jimmy” Murdoch, 64, of Geary, NB, on February 6, 2013 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on May 6, 1948, Jimmy was a son of Edna Annie (nee Knowles) Murdoch of Oromocto and the late John Millar Murdoch. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Donna Carol (nee Fox) Murdoch; step-daughter, Tammy Marney (Devon Maskill) of Fredericton; step-son, Trevor Marney (Kelsey Higgins) of Fredericton; his pride and joy, his grandsons: Ethan Maskill and Kaden Marney; brother, John (Norah) Murdoch of Truro, NS; nieces: Luanne (Greg) McKnight of Toronto and Lorie (Corey) Merritt of Georgia, USA; aunts: Arvella Malloy and Alma Glendenning; parents-in-law, Vincent Fox and Maudie Fox of Fredericton; several cousins and a number of extended family members and friends. Jimmy served as a Master Corporal with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Association (RCEME) from 1970-1992.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, NB, (506-756-3361). As per Jimmy’s request, there will be no visitation held. A memorial service will be held at the Geary Baptist Church, Geary, NB, at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
