
John Maxwell
MAXWELL, JOHN WILLIAM - 1932 - 2013 - It is with heartfelt sorrow the family of John William Maxwell of Middleton, NB announce his passing on February 11, 2013 at The Moncton Hospital at the age of 80. Born in Barnesville, NB, he was a son of William and Margaret (Maxwell) Scott. John graduated from the Maritime Forest Ranger School and went on to work for the Department of Forestry and Canadian Wildlife Service. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid reader and in his retirement he enjoyed crafting ornamental iron work. Family was very important to John, especially his grandchildren who enjoyed having their Papa attend their various sporting events. John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois (Buckingham) Maxwell; sons, James and Brian (Michelle Purdy); daughters, Heather (Alan) Milner, Katherine (David) Burns, and Gayle (Randy) Cadman; daughter-in-law, Susan Maxwell; grandchildren, Laura, Sarah, Andrew, Erin, Virginia, Alex, James, Max, Johnny, Myles, Joseph, Riley, Katie, Ryan, Eian, Lily, Simon; great grandchildren, Maria, Evie, Sawyer, Kadence, Darius; mother, Margaret Scott of St. John, NB; brothers, Bruce Maxwell of St. John, NB, and Rev. Garth (Dottie) Maxwell of Fredericton, NB; sister, Linda (Bill) Weaver of Quispamsis, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, William Maxwell and sons, Joseph and John Maxwell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300).Family and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 13 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 2 PM from St. Vincent's RC Church. Burial will take place in St. Edward's Parish Cemetery in the spring. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of John may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
