Passed away Jan. 21, 2010, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.
Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Anne Lewis of Sydney. She was a graduate of Holy Angels High School in Sydney, and later, Teachers College in Truro. She spent her career as a music teacher with the Halifax Public School system. She lived for husband, John and sons, John and Tim. She loved to spend her summers on the Mira River in Cape Breton at the cottage that was originally the Lewis family cottage.
Kay, as she was known, is survived by her husband, John, Halifax; son, John, daughter-in-law Kathryn and granddaughter Reese of Collingwood, Ont., and son, Tim, daughter-in-law Kristi and granddaughter, Ryleigh, Waterville, Maine.
She was predeceased by her sister, Mona Faye Lewis.
Many thanks to doctors and staff who cared for her with great compassion.
There will be a service held on the Mira, Cape Breton this summer.
