JACKSON, Frances Pauline, 91, Shelburne, passed away peacefully “Into that good night” at Roseway Manor on Sunday, February 10, 2013. Born at Factorydale, Kings Co., on February 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late George Milton and Elzora Faye (Ewing) Beals. Educated at Nicholsville School, she moved to Halifax where she served as a clerk at the HMCS Dockyard during WWII. Upon the return of ‘the love of her life’ Lewis A. Jackson from Army Service overseas, the young couple married on May 11, 1946 and subsequently moved to Shelburne where they established and operated a small grocery store for 33 years. Cherished by family and friends, Frances had a heart of gold and was well known for her kind words and deeds towards others. She was a long time member of the Shelburne United Baptist Church and the Women’s Missionary Society. A devoted mother and grandmother, Frances is survived by daughter Shirley (Robert) Vacon, Shelburne; son Lewis, Shelburne; granddaughters Jubilee (Justine) Jackson, Ottawa, Michelle Vacon, Shelburne and brother, Robert (Jean) Beals, Rockville Knotch, Kings Co. She was predeceased by husband, Lewis; daughter Linda; brothers Howard and Russell Beals. A special thank you is extended from the family to Dr. Mark Riley, her private caregivers and the Victorian Order of Nurses, while at home, as well as the staff of Roseway Manor and The Leisure Club. Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
