Passed peacefully away on February 12, 2013 surrounded by her family and friends at the Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital, Bell Island at the age of 77. Predeceased by her husband Edward (Buck); parents: John and Gladys Skanes; daughter May; son Robert; and grandson David Foley; Leaving to mourn her children: Carol Foley (Dave); Debbie Hamilton (Charl); Donna Fitzgerald (Steve); Maurice Boone (Kathy); Marilyn Brown (Randy); Sharon Foley (Bill); Lorne Boone (Stacey); Trevor Boone (Michelle); Scott Boone (Shelly); Anna Parsons (Wade). 3 brothers; 3 sisters; 23 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren. The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at the Dr. Walter Templeman Hospital for the care and support shown to our Mom over the years, and for the home visits she received from NP Eileen Besso and Community Health. Also a special thank you to her care givers: Debbie Rees, Connie Hickey and daughter Donna. Resting at Pendergast’s Funeral Home on Bell Island on Wednesday and Thursday ,February 13th and 14th from 12 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Jackson United Church, Bell Island on Friday February 15th, at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at a later date. As expression of sympathy flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Diabetic association or to the St. Cyprians, St. Mary’s Building Fund.
