On the first anniversary of Catherine’s death (February 17, 2012), we would like to recognize and express many thanks to the gracious and generous people of our community who have supported us during her illness and death.
The support from everyone who made home and hospital visits, attended her visitation, sent mass and sympathy cards, floral arrangements, made charitable donations, monetary gifts, E-mails, brought foods to our homes and those who traveled distances to be with us, it was greatly appreciated. The greatest gift was your friendship that helped us get through this very sad time in our lives. Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness and kindness.
Catherine was given top-notch care and treatment from the dedicated and compassionate staff in the following departments at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital; Blood Collection Services, Ambulatory Care, Nuclear Medicine, Cancer Center, chemo room nurses, Radiation, X-ray and Physiotherapy department, Palliative Care Team and the An Cala Palliative Care Unit. Thanks to everyone who provided Catherine with exceptional care and support. Catherine always remarked that “how blessed she was to have such great care and treatment in Cape Breton”. As members of Catherine’s family, we were always treated with much respect and support, our heartfelt gratitude goes out to all the great people in these departments
Catherine’s Celebration of Life was planned and carried out by her friends and family members. All aspects of the celebration was achieved very well and fulfilling Catherine’s final wishes. To all the people that made time to attend her celebration and to those involved in making her celebration such a joyful and meaningful expression of Catherine’s life, we say thank you so much for all your thoughtfulness, kindness and friendship.

In closing, we have lost a great person and a true friend to all. The kindness and friendship shown to us from everyone was a true testament of who Catherine was and for that we are forever grateful.
