NEW GLASGOW – Rita Juliette McIntyre, age 54, of Birch St., New Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Rita (Doucette) McIntyre.
She enjoyed time with family and friends and travelling.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Cooke; daughter, Tanya Marie McIntyre, Stellarton; son, Brian Emille Landru, Riverton; grandchildren, Shania Lynn McIntyre and Ella Paige Landru; sisters: Sheila (William) Nolan, Glace Bay; Bernadette (Howard) Hardy, Fort Sack., Alberta; Mary Roberts, Ontario; brother, Brian (Debbie) McIntyre, Glace Bay; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Carol Ann; brothers, James and Tommy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation 1-3 p.m. Saturday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial will be in Glace Bay at a later date.
