BYERS, JOAN - The death of Joan Ruth Byers, wife of the late Henry Byers, occurred on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born January 17, 1926 in Rothesay, she was the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Dorcus) Miller. In her spare time she enjoyed going to Sobey’s, reading the paper and meeting up with friends. She is survived by her son Tim M. Byers of Concorde, NH; sisters Betty Miller and Helen Withrow both of Rothesay; special friends Judy and Larry, whom she lived with for the last 6 years; other special friends Jim and Bonnie Bishop; homemaker Wanda; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a son Jake Byers; brothers Harry, Usher, Arthur and Jordan and sisters Connie, Muriel, Audrey and Phyllis. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Palliative Care (SJRH) for all of the kindness and care given to Joan.
