LEWIS, RUBY PEARL - Ruby Pearl Lewis, 88, of Forest Hill, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital with her husband by her side. Born in Meadow, she was a daughter of the late Trunhum and Janie (Bannister) Steeves. Ruby was a homemaker and a member of the First Elgin Baptist Church. She was also a former member of the Elgin Women's Institute., an avid bingo player and enjoyed a friendly game of cards. Ruby is survived and missed by her husband of 36 years Darrell; children Barbara L. Febel (Peter) of Birks Falls, ON, Maxine P. Zazinsky (Borden) of Mississauga, ON, Carol A. Snow (Derek) of Oakville, ON, and Eugene Charlton (Lana) of Elgin; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister Alberta Marr (Hilyard) of Lutes Mtn; brothers Everett Steeves (Anna) of Meadow and Clinton Steeves (Emily) of Petitcodiac; brother-in-law Bill Henry of Monteagle and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Wayne Charlton; grandsons Bradley and Steven Charlton; sisters Mona Steeves and Elizabeth Henry and brothers Clarence and Roy Steeves.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) where family visitation will be Sunday, February 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. The funeral, for relatives and friends, will be held from the funeral home chapel Monday, February 18 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Delbert Bannister officiating. Interment at New Elgin Cemetery at a later date.
