The death occurred unexpectedly at Villa Marguerite, North Rustico, on Thursday, February 14, 2013, of Robert Matheson, of Oyster Bed Bridge, age 85.
He was the son of the late Henry and Gladys (Andrews) Matheson. Robert spent his whole life on the family farm in Oyster Bed Bridge. He was very knowledgeable about local history and genealogy and shared this with all who dropped in to visit him. His Bible was well worn from much use. His faith was strong.
Robert is survived by his nephews and nieces, Stanley, Garth and Joan Matheson and Vernon Matheson, Shirley Christian and Heather Ford; his niece-in-law, Gloria Matheson; several grandnieces and nephews; cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lester (Miriam) and Gordon (Martha); and his nephew, Lloyd.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 1:15 to 2:15, with funeral to follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment later in Portage Cemetery.
