GLENDENNING, MARY E. B. - 1923 - 2013 - Moncton - Mary Edna Bessie Glendenning, widow of the late John F. Glendenning, of Lower Coverdale and formerly of Black River Bridge, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at the age of 89. Born in Point Aux Carr, on March 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Clara (MacDonald) Watling. She was a homemaker and a store owner, alongside her husband John. She was a dedicated member of St. Pauls Presbyterian church, Black River Bridge; a former member of the John Robertson Unit of the A.M.S.; a former member of the Black River Womens Institute. She is survived by one daughter, Jeanie Williston (Ray), of Lower Coverdale; four sisters, Geneva Sweezey, of Napan Bay, Ruby Taylor of Napan Bay, Sadie McLenaghan, of Bay du Vin, Jean Glendenning (Norman), of Little Branch; four brothers, Robert Watling (Migonne), of Mississauga, Ont., Ozzie Watling (Gert), of Pickering, Ont., Ken Watling (Shirley), of Orillia, Ont., Wynn Watling (Liz), of Woodstock, Ont.; four grandchildren, Kevin (Linda), Greg (Sarah), Timmy (Mireille), Julie (Jason); ten great grandchildren, Maeve, Austin, Jordan, John, Ella, Justin, Monica, Jonah, Katie, Graham; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1986; one daughter, Margaret; two sons, Frankie and George; seven brothers, Cedric, George, Jack, Lawrence, Clarence, Ernie, James Watling.
Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Pauls Presbyterian Church, Black River Bridge, on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 1:30 pm, conducted by Rev. Derek Krunys. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Pauls Presbyterian Church (General Fund) or any charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.
