OWEN, IRENE - With heavy hearts, the family of Irene Jean Owen, announces her death, at Bobby’s Hospice House, on Monday, February 18, 2013. Irene was born in Natal, BC, on January 27, 1947, the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Corrigan) Rothel. She is survived by her husband Bob Owen; daughter Tracey MacFarland and her husband Peter of Sussex, NB; grandchildren Tylar and Aidan; sister Colleen Tarzwell and her husband Robert of Cranbrook, BC; special niece Kim Bulter of Cranbrook, BC. Irene worked as a teacher’s assistant for most of her adult life, retiring from Sussex Elementary School and was adored by all that came around her. It wasn’t uncommon to see three or more students hanging around her at any one time. Above everything else, she loved being around her grandchildren Tylar and Aidan.
Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, are entrusted with arrangements. There will be a celebration of Irene’s life, by invitation only.
