It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Paul Doyle on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at the Community Hospital in O’Leary, P.E.I., after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 16, 1937, in Campbellton, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Harold and Myrtle (Deighan) Doyle.
Paul was an employee of SMT (Eastern) Limited, Saint John, for 37 years, retiring in 2001. He was a retired member of Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 1229.
Survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Calnan); daughter, Heather; brothers, Mark, Thornhill, Ontario; Rae (Shirley), Summerside, P.E.I.; Donald (Kitty), Campbellton, P.E.I.; Harold (Ellen), Fenwick, Ont.; and sisters, Betty Bruce (Robert), Mahone Bay, N.S.; Eileen Stewart (Kaye), Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Joan Doyle, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Christopher; and his sister, Margaret Kibbee.
By request of the family, there will be no visitation.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the West Prince Funeral Home, Palmer Road, P.E.I.
Mass of Christian burial to be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Church, Burton. Interment in St. Mark’s Cemetery.
Remembrances can be made to the St. Mark’s Cemetery Fund or Community Hospital Foundation.
