SMITH, DAVID OSCAR - It is with heavy hearts that we wish to announce the passing of David “Bud” Smith, beloved husband of Alice (Goguen) Smith, at Rocmaura Nursing Home, on February 19, 2013. Born in Springhill, NS, he was the son of the late Lester Smith and Phyllis (Amon) Smith Landry and a step-son to the late Percy Landry. David was proud to serve his country overseas during peacetime and owner of Uti-Color Canada for 30 years. Besides his family he had a great love of music, gardening, hunting, fishing and berry picking. Along with his loving wife Alice, David is survived by his children Gary (Alicia) MacNeill, Kim (Roland) Roberts, and Lisa; grandsons Cory, Kyle, Justin, Connor, and Deven; step-brothers Percy (Wanda) Landry and Robert (Marcella) Landry; step-sister Ann (Fransisco) Garcia. In addition to his parents and step-father, he was also predeceased by his brother William Smith.

At David’s request, cremation will take place and the family will receive visitors, Friday from 6 to 8pm with the Funeral Mass taking place Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 10 am from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Rothesay, followed by a reception at the church.
