O’KEEFE, GEORGE JOSEPH - George J. O’Keefe, formerly of Harvey Station, NB passed away February 23, 2013 at White Rapids Manor, Fredericton Junction, NB with his family by his side. Born at Saint John, NB in 1939, he was a son of the late Michael and Mary Jane (Clark) O’Keefe. Before his retirement, George was employed with St. Anne Nackawic Pulp Mill for several years. He enjoyed the quiet solitude of his camp in Pokiok Settlement and is remembered by his family as a great dad and grandfather. George is survived by a son, Patrick O’Keefe, Fredericton; two daughters, Mary Jane Hamilton (Michael), Truro, NS and Madeline O’Keefe (Lester), Rooth, NB; two grandsons, Adam Finnie, Harvey, NB and Christopher Finnie, Fredericton, NB; one great granddaughter, Brooklyn Finnie, Fredericton, NB; a brother, Ronald O’Keefe (Pat), Moncton, NB; two sisters, Margaret Allen, Saint John, NB and Mary MacDonald, Riverview, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Jackie M. (Doucet) O’Keefe; three sisters, Cathryn O’Keefe, Doreen Campbell and Jean Purdy; one brother, Tom O’Keefe.
Honoring his request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cork, NB.
