It is with great sadness that the family of the late Howard Lavers (1956-2013) of Port Saunders, NL announce his passing on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at the age of 57 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his children Michael (Karri), Borden, Ontario, Jeremy (Dawnie), Grande Prairie, Alberta. and Christina, Port Saunders; grandsons Ashton and Alexei; granddaughter Taylor; mother Pauline; brothers and sisters Bob (Judy), Joe (Barb), Cecil (Lillian), Olive (Ron), Laverne, Josephine and Lorna (Leo); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Matthew and brother Derek. Visitation took place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Saunders on Sunday evening and Monday. The funeral service took place place on Tuesday, February 26 at 3 p.m. from French Shore Academy with Fr. Lee Lainey officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NL Wildlife Officers Association (Janeway Children’s Hospital), c/o Scotiabank.
