New Glasgow – Winnifred (Harper) Martin (1921-2013). The time has come to say Good Bye. Winnie Martin of New Glasgow, passed away Saturday, March 2, at home with her family at her side. Born in Trenton, NS, she was a daughter of Alfred and Edith (Hodgetts) Harper. She will be sadly missed by her two sons: Dennis (Brenda); and Dan, New Glasgow; four daughters: Pat (Barry) Dickie, Moncton, NB; Annette (Charles) Stewart; Helen (Ron) Stewart, both of Antigonish; Kathleen (Peter) Perron, Burlington, ON; eighteen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister: Grace (Neil) Richardson, Stellarton; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband of 71 years, Frank, she was predeceased by her brother Dennis (Edna) Harper and sister Phyllis (Gerald) Cameron. Winnie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. The family will receive visitors at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, March 5. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church at 2 pm Wednesday, March 6, 2013, with Father Donald Boudreau officiating.
