DOHERTY, BLAKE - Blake "Dumpy" Vernon Doherty of Chipman passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, March 1st, 2013. Born in Chipman in 1948, son of the late Purdy and Hazel (Pyne) Doherty. Blake is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Krista, their son, Christopher (Angelina) of Airdrie, AB; beloved “Dumpy” to grandchildren Ava and Gavin: brothers, Murray (Carol) of Chipman, Reid (Lauretta) of Sussex, and Dwight (Kristine) of Moncton; sisters, Rita (Scott) Robinson of Chipman and Treva (Gerald) White of Quispamsis; brother-in-law Kevin (Nettie) Shirley of Calgary; mother-in-law, Geraldine Shirley of Fredericton; nieces, nephews and his dog Smoky. Predeceased by twin granddaughters Blake and Ashley; father-in-law, Alward Shirley. Also predeceased by Karen, Jeremy and Taylor.
The family will receive comfort from visitors at the Chipman Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (339-6612) on Monday, March 4th, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Christian Life Centre on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Sisco officiating. Interment will be in the Red Bank United Church Cemetery at a later date.
