June 29, 1982-June 12, 2008 A beautiful soul in a flourishing and contributing young man was tragically extinguished on the night of June 12, 2008. Born and raised in central Toronto, Oliver leaves Susan, the loving mother of her "baby boy', his cherished sisters Georgina, Sydney and Ally, stepfather Alan Dudeck, father Richard Martin in Nova Scotia and many saddened family members and friends in Toronto and Prince Edward Island, including his grandmother Olave MacDonald in Charlottetown, P.E.I. Oliver's P.E.I. connection has been strong and loving being Addie and Olave MacDonald's grandson and spending every summer at his family cottage in Keppoch. His mother Susan's siblings in P.E.I. include Marilyn Kane (Jack), Judy Lougheed (Bill), Dr. Linda MacDonald-Brown (Kent) and Dr. Peter MacDonald (Bonnie). Sister Kim Tupper (Dan) resides in Ottawa. Oliver's character was a composite of caring for others, maintaining lifelong friendships and family connections, and an enthusiastic energy in his developing career. He was determined to make the most of what life can yield when effort is expended, whether in the office, a social context or on the sports field. Oliver followed his high school studies with a B. Comm from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal. He was subsequently employed in the financial services sector, for the past year as an Associate at Russell Investments and was pursuing his CFA designation. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 19, at the Rosedale Presbyterian Church, 129 Mt. Pleasant Rd., at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Humphrey Miles Funeral Chapel at 1403 Bayview Ave. A memorial service for Oliver will be held in P.E.I. later this summer, details to be announced.
