Peacefully at the Maplewood Manor, Alberton, on Friday, March 1, 2013, of Esther Schow MacWilliam, O’Leary, formerly Milton, Massachusetts, aged 94, wife of the late W. Russell MacWilliam and Harry J. MacWilliam. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on Dec 10, 1918, daughter of the late Ole and Gjertina (Nilsen) Schow. Dear mother to Katherine MacWilliam, Anne Callanan, Martha (Wayne) Howard, Gerald (Katherine) MacWilliam, James (Gloria) MacWilliam and David MacWilliam. Stepmother to Glen (Irene Profit) MacWilliam, Janice MacWilliam and Heather MacWilliam. Loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Esther is also survived by brother Walter (Ethel) Schow and sister-in-law Joan Schow. Predeceased by her parents, first husband William Russell MacWilliam (1971), second husband Harry James MacWilliam (2004) and brothers Edward and Charles Schow. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Monday, March 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service Tuesday, March 5, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at a later date in the Bloomfield United Church Cemetery. In memory of Esther, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the Bloomfield United Church Cemetery would be appreciated.
