DOUCETTE, JAMES ALBERT “BEAVER” - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Beaver Doucette of Saint John who passed away peacefully at the Bobby’s Hospice House with his family at his side on Saturday, March 2nd 2013. Born in Saint John, November of 1949 to the late Bernard and Albenia (Laird) Doucette. In earlier years Beaver worked for the Saint John Shipbuilding (Dry Dock) and was a welder by trade. In later years he owned and operated a convenience store, Ellerdale Variety. He was an extreme hockey and sports fan never missing Saturday Night Hockey. He was an avid Sidney Crosby fan. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Beaver is survived by his loving children Dumper Doucette (Tanya) and Tammy Thomas both of Saint John; cherished grandchildren Alicia (Justin), D.J. (Christina), Jamie (Jodi) and Devin (Katelyn); great-grandchildren Brianna, Marshall and Peyton; brothers Bernie Doucette and Bob Doucette (Leta) both of Saint John; sisters Ann Price (Gary) and Janet Boucher both of Saint John; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, Beaver was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 45 years Catherine (Crowe) Doucette in 2011.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road with visitation on Monday, March 4th, 2013 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 5th at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
