Ramona Ruth MacDonald-Brenton

MacDonald-Brenton, Ramona Ruth – 74, Truro, passed away Friday, March 1st, 2012 at home. Born in St. Stephen’s NB, she was a daughter of the late George and Ruby (Bethume) Newell. Ramona enjoyed Gospel Music. She was actively involved in many fund raisers in the Truro and surrounding areas and recently helped raise money for the Hilden Fire Brigade with the help of the Coffee Houses that she held.
She is survived by daughters, Sharon Langille (Ian) of Hilden, Shelley MacDonald (Chris Eldridge) of Sidney, BC; grandchildren, Robert Currie, Kelsie Currie, Brandon Currie, Cody Langille, Faith Langille; brother Robert Newell (Doris) of St. George NB; sister Lorraine Lindsay (William) of Stewiacke; half-brother Donald Vanhorne of Digby.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Wilfred Brenton; half-brother Charles Vanhorne; half-sisters Shirley, Werenka, Betty, Norma, Easter.
No visitation by family request. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 5th at 2 pm in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Captain Stephen McNeilly will officiate with burial to take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Salvation Army Truro Corp.
