It is with great regret that we the family announce the sudden passing of Philip MacKinnon on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at home.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Sabina MacKinnon, and raised by the late Joseph and Lillian MacKinnon.
He was a siding installer by trade. He enjoyed spending time with his son at the drag races, his daughter and grandchildren, his pride and joy.
Philip is survived by his loving wife, Sharon (MacLeod); his daughter, Juanita MacKinnon (Brad Lannon); son, Trevor (Natasha) MacKinnon, both of Sydney; his four precious grandchildren, Keri, Chase, Reilly and Rebecca. He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph, Billy, Peter, Jack, Annie Mae, and Melinda as well as nieces and nephews.
Philip was predeceased by his siblings, Evelyn, Margaret, Mamie, Danny, Philip and Michael.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Reception to follow.
