It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of Gordie Sullivan on Monday, March 4, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Percy and Nora (Marsh) Sullivan.
He was employed with the Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Parks and Grounds Department until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the Sergents Mess Sydney/Halifax Dart League for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (MacInnis) Sullivan; daughters, Kelly Sullivan and Leona Sulivan, both at home; sister, Blanche Bubis, Ontario; and brother, Daniel Sullivan, B.C.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, Thomas Patrick and brother, JoJo.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral mass will take place 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at St. Anthony Daniel Church, with Fr. Donald MacGillivary officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cape Breton Palliative Care.
