Ellen May MacDonald
97 years, Crapaud, passed away March 3, 2013, at South Shore Villa.
Ellen was born in St. George's, daughter of the late Loretta and James H. MacDonald, and lived most of her life in Charlottetown. In her later years, Ellen resided at the South Shore Villa in Crapaud. In her younger years, she was an accomplished knitter, a faithful supporter of CWL events and she loved to travel.
She will be missed by son, Keith (Jane), St. John's, Newfoundland; sister, Genevieve MacDonald, Charlottetown; five grandchildren, Sherri, Alana, Laura, Colin and Iain; great-grandchildren, Stuart, Fiona, Maggie-Jane and Reid; son-in-law, Don Doran; sisters-in-law, Bernadette MacDonald, Cardigan, and Eileen (Louis) MacKenzie, Montague; and brother-in-law, Norbert (Pat) MacDonald, Hamilton. She is also missed by a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis J. "Frank" (1999); daughter, Frances "Frankie" (Don) Doran (2009), Riverview, New Brunswick; sisters, Mary (Sister Mary Loretto), Bernadette Morrison and Agnes Whitty; and brother, John Francis.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home until Friday at 1:45 p.m., then to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment later in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
Visitation on Thursday from 6-9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.
The CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
