In loving memory of my Mother, who
passed away one year ago today.

The days all fade away into night,
And nights awake into days,
The world around me seems so different,
It has changed in so many ways.

Your face is always on my mind,
A smile I’d seen a million times,
Two eyes that would light up the sky at night,
One last battle you could not fight.

The moment that you died,
My heart was torn in two,
One side filled with heartache,
The other died with you.

But great memories I will always keep with me,
Your love in my heart for eternity,
I never got to say goodbye,
To understand why, I can but try.

If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord, please pick a bunch for me,
And place them in my Mother's arms,
And tell her they're from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek,
And hold her for awhile.

Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
But there's an ache within my heart,
Because I am missing her today.

I hold you tightly within my heart,
And there you will remain,
Waiting in heaven from this moment on,
'Till God asks you to bring me home.
