Conrad (Connie) Hurley

HURLEY- Conrad Wm., 71, of Maccan, Cumberland County, passed away peacefully in Milton, Queens County on Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Maccan, he was a son of the late Alexis and Amie (Collins) Hurley.
Conrad was a former employee with Bens Bakery in Halifax, Mersey Seafoods in Liverpool and Forest Hill Autobody in Toronto. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His favorite pastimes were playing cards (and cheating if he could get away with it!) and spending time at the family hunting camp. He also had a great love of animals.
He is survived by his daughters Kelley Anne Hurley (Virginia Allen) of Milton; Kendra Hurley (Kenneth Wilson) of Keswick, ON. “Papa” will be greatly missed by grandchildren Chloe, Ryan and step-grandchildren Jessica and Samantha. His siblings Joyce (Ronald) Ripley, Daniel (Norma Joyce), Linda (Ronald) Boss, Ross, Irvin (Claudia) and Cathy (Mack) Harroun as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Gervin and Aubrey and his sister-in-law Margaret “Mag”.
As per Conrad’s wishes, his body has been cremated and a private family celebration of life will be held in September in Amherst. No flowers. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Queens County Branch of the S.P.C.A.
