DOLORES MACDONALD
May 18, 1939 – February 17, 2013
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Dolores MacDonald announces her passing on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, Port aux Basques, at the age of 73 years. Born at Port aux Basques, Dolores was the daughter of the late George and Nina Lomond. She was predeceased by: father and mother-in-law John and Emma MacDonald of Grand Bruit; and brothers-in-law Fred Bishop, Mount Pearl, and Stephen “Budd” Macdonald, Ramea. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories of a wonderful mother and grandmother, her loving family: devoted husband of 53 years Sidney Macdonald; sons: Gary (Jill), Mount Pearl, and David (Jackie), Port aux Basques; precious grandchildren: Brandon, Matthew, Lisa and Kayla; brothers: Gerald (Diane) Lomond, Gander, David (Maisie) Lomond, Cape Ray; sisters: Cammie Bishop and Doreen Lomond, Mount Pearl; brothers-in-law: George (Evelyn) MacDonald, Wayne MacDonald, both of Port aux Basques; sisters-in-law: Elsie (Harold) Billard, Kathleen (Wayne) Francis, La Poile, and Emily MacDonald, Ramea; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives , special friends and neighbours. Visitation took place on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port aux Basques. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 20th at 2 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Dicks officiating. Interment followed at St. James Anglican cemetery, Barachois Hill.
