BOUDREAU, Elizabeth Catherine – 99, Nakile Home for Special Care, Argyle, formerly of Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born August 21, 1913 in Quinan, she was a daughter of the late Leandée and Catherine (Muise) Surette. She worked as a furniture store clerk for a number of years, after which she worked at the Upper Wedgeport post office, a position from which she retired. Elizabeth remained very active until her death having started her own business within this past year - she would knit dishcloths and sell them, donating profits to Nakile Home. She was featured in a few newspaper articles for this accomplishment and was very proud of her abilities. Naturally, she enjoyed knitting, as well as crocheting, and she was an avid quilter. She was a member of the Wedgeport New Horizons and she loved regularly playing cards with her friends at the local fire hall. She is survived by her children, Lorraine (Bill) LeBlanc, Toronto; George Boudreau, Medway, Mass.; Evelyn “Lynne” Anderson, Moncton, NB; a daughter-in-law, Liz Boudreau, as well as by 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles, as well as by children, Raymond, in infancy, Charles, Louis, Edward and Thomas Boudreau; a brother, Arthur Surette; sisters, Emilie Surette, Georgina Surette and Frances LeBlanc. Visitation took place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with prayers at 8 p.m. both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Wedgeport. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 6 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiated. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Michael’s Parish Cemetery, the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund or to Nakile Home for Special Care.
