Mrs. Jean MacDonald Hull, 86, of Glace Bay, N.S., passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Taigh na Mara.
Born in Bridgewater, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Rev. John and Katie (Buchanan) MacDonald.
Jean was a member of Knox United Church, Glace Bay, where she served as an Elder. After the death of her husband, Jean was employed with the Royal Bank and later she worked with the Citizen’s Service League as Co-ordinator of Homemakers Services. She was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara (Darrell) Read, Sydney, Elizabeth (Peter) Van Den Heuvel, Antigonish, and Janet (Rodney) Rudderham, Mira Road; and son-in-law, Kirk Wilson. Also left to mourn are grandchildren, Doug, Kristy and Susan Read, Paul and Nan Wilson, David and Carolyn Van Den Heuvel and Eric and Philip Rudderham; and brother, John, Ottawa.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Douglas, daughter, Eileen, and brother, Stewart.
Visitation for the late Jean MacDonald Hull will take place Tuesday, Feb. 2 from 6-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will follow Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Knox United Church, Glace Bay, with Rev. John Finlayson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
