September 30, 1951 — January 31, 2010, of Southeast, Placentia. Passed peacefully away at the Placentia Health Care Centre in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Mary Maher and father-in-law Bernard O’Keefe,brothers-in-law Raymond Hickey and Tom Allen. Left to celebrate and remember his life are his wife Patsy, five brothers Frank (Gloria), Tom (Kathleen), Adrian (Liz), Gerard (Helen), and John (Ce-Ann); six sisters Ann Hickey, Sister Patricia Maher, Geraldine Maher, Winnie Hickey, Mary (Gordon Stahl), and Evelyn (Charlie Power), mother -in-law Marion O’Keefe, brother -in-law Bernard O’Keefe (Linda), sisters-in-law Amelia (Lane Chandler), Lynda (Dick Dunphy), Irene, and Deniece (Gerard Dray). Also, a large circle of special nieces and nephews, other relatives and very close friends. Resting at Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia on Monday, February 1, 2010 from 7 PM to 9 PM and Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia. Interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast, Placentia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil Place.
