Frederick "Fred" Foster
FOSTER, FREDERICK “FRED” WOODROW WILSON - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Fred Foster, formerly of Maugerville, NB at the Shannex, Thomas Hall on Wednesday, March 6th, 2013. Born in Maugerville, NB he was the son of the late George and Margaret (Campbell) Foster and husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (Campbell) Foster. Fred was a proud WWII veteran enlisting in 1940 and was a long-time Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4 member. He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Fred Jr. Foster (Linda) of Fredericton, NB; daughters, Crystal Foster of Oromocto, NB, Karen Warren (Keith) of Burton, NB and Stacey Foster of Douglas Harbour, NB; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Spencer; brothers, Arnold and Floyd Foster and his half siblings, May VanBuskirk and George and Joseph MacKenzie.
There will be no visitation per Fred’s request. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Charles Harvey. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4 will hold a tribute service at 11:00 am on Saturday prior to the memorial service. Interment will take place in the Upper Maugerville Cemetery at a later date.
