1929-2010 — Passed peacefully away on Saturday, January 30th, 2010 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital surrounded by his loving family, Frank Ryan age 80 years. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Eva; stepmother Annie; father and mother-in-law Jack and Catherine O’Neill; brothers: Nicholas, Wilf, Jim; stepbrother Ted Newman; brothers-in-law: Austin Smith, Frank O’Neill, Doug Kitchen, Bill Jackson, Ron Young and Bert Andrews; sister-in-law Lucy Ryan. Leaving to mourn his loving wife, best friend and caregiver of 55 years, Angela (O’Neill); son Francis (Karen); daughters: Belinda, Angie (Gerard Farrell), Darlene, Tina (Doug McGrath); grandchildren who he adored: Tara, Josh (Erin Doherty) and Ryan; family pet Zoe; sister: Gerti Kitchen, Beulah Glover (Will); stepsisters: Joan Andrews, Lucy Young and Charlotte Jackson who he adored; step-brothers: Hughie Newman (Marg) and Walter Newman (Ruth); sisters-in-law: Theresa Smith, Agnes Ryan, Sheila Searle (Rupert), Cathy Mooney (Jack), and Viola Newman; brother-in-law Thomas O’Neill (Frances); a special friend and neighbor Jean Randell; caregiver Ethel Mooney; also a large circle of family and friends. Special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at 7-West at St. Clare’s Hospital. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 1045 Topsail Road. Visitation from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday February 3rd, 2010 at 2 p.m. from Church of the Ascension, Mt. Pearl. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
